About The Position

This role is for a Staff Mobile Developer with expertise in both iOS and React Native. The mission within the mobile team is to develop strategies for staying updated with new frameworks and technologies in both native iOS and React Native ecosystems. The developer will anticipate future skill needs, support development activities, ensure action monitoring, and provide constructive feedback. They will implement effective communication tools within the team, develop new features for the native iOS application, and contribute to the hiring process by identifying team needs and interviewing candidates. A key responsibility is guiding the integration of React Native modules into the native iOS codebase, defining best practices for a harmonious coexistence between native and cross-platform code. The role also involves providing technical leadership and mentorship to both native iOS and React Native developers, and championing the adoption of AI tools for code generation, review, testing, and documentation, while establishing best practices for responsible AI use.

Requirements

• 8+ years in iOS development, ideally with customer-facing apps.
• Strong understanding of Swift and SwiftUI.
• Hands-on experience with React Native, including integrating React Native components into existing native iOS applications (brownfield integration).
• Understanding of the React Native bridge/JSI, native modules, and how to architect a hybrid codebase where native and React Native code coexist cleanly.
• Comfortable with TypeScript/JavaScript and the React Native tooling ecosystem (Metro, Hermes, CocoaPods/SPM interop).
• Actively leverage AI tools in your daily workflow (AI-assisted coding, code review, test generation, refactoring) and can critically evaluate their output.
• Familiar with unidirectional data flow architecture.
• Ability to engage in discussions about software design patterns and architecture, both in native iOS and cross-platform contexts.
• Deep understanding of software design patterns for clean, consistent, simple, and efficient code.
• Ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams, including product owners, design, product management, and other developers to define, design, and release new features.
• Passionate about problem solving and understanding how and when to make a compromise, including when to build natively versus in React Native.
• Exceptional communication skills, allowing you to translate complex nontechnical stakeholder needs into precise technical requirements for your team.
• Ability to guide and mentor members of the software engineering team, both iOS and React Native developers, in design and architecture planning.

• Provide technical leadership and mentorship to both native iOS developers and developers working on React Native integrations.
• Champion the adoption of AI within the team: identify where AI-assisted development (code generation, code review, testing, documentation) can boost productivity and quality, define best practices for responsible use, and lead by example.
• Conduct exhaustive code reviews across Swift and TypeScript and facilitate knowledge-sharing sessions to foster skill growth and advancement.
