About The Position

Zurich is seeking a Managing Attorney to lead its Staff Legal office in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. This role involves managing Liability and Workers’ Compensation attorneys, reporting to a Regional Managing Attorney, and collaborating with the LeHigh Valley PA Managing Attorney on specific cases. The Managing Attorney will not handle their own caseload but will focus on leading the team responsible for representing Zurich’s commercial insureds. This includes preparing and trying moderate to high exposure cases from a diverse caseload. The ideal candidate will be an experienced attorney capable of providing coaching and feedback on complex matters and high exposures within the office. Zurich North America promotes work-life balance and flexibility through its hybrid work model, which allows for a blend of remote and in-office work. This specific position requires 3 days per week in the Philadelphia office and 2 days remotely, with the expectation that the Managing Attorney works out of the Philadelphia, PA office.

Requirements

Juris Doctor degree.
10 or more years of experience in litigation.
Significant first chair jury trial experience.
Member in good standing in the Pennsylvania State Bar.
Experience working with Lexis.
Knowledge of the insurance industry, claims, and the insurance defense litigation legal environment.
Knowledge of law and procedure.
