About The Position

As a Staff Investor Relations team member at GitLab, you will help rebuild investor relations processes and shape how the company communicates its strategy and performance to public markets. Working closely with the VP of Finance Strategy & Operations, the CFO, and the executive team, you will be a senior individual contributor with broad ownership of investor communications and relationships. You will connect insights from across the business to explain GitLab's technical products, evolving business models, and long-term investment thesis. GitLab’s Investor Relations team drives the company’s strategy and long-term market positioning in public financial markets. The team is small, so each member has broad ownership and visibility across all aspects of investor relations. The role is remote and operates in an all-remote, asynchronous-first environment.

Requirements

  • Experience evaluating software businesses from a buy-side or sell-side investment perspective, gained through investing, equity research, investor relations, or a related field.
  • Financial modeling, valuation, and quantitative analysis skills, including the ability to identify business drivers that shape investor expectations.
  • Experience producing or analyzing earnings materials and investor presentations, and explaining technical software products, evolving business models, and financial performance clearly in writing and conversation.
  • Ability to work directly with senior executives and offer an informed point of view.
  • Working knowledge of SEC reporting, Regulation FD, and public company disclosure practices.
  • Proficiency with presentation and spreadsheet tools, and experience with IR and market data platforms.
  • Experience using AI to improve workflows or willingness to develop that capability.
  • Ability to work independently and manage competing priorities in an all-remote, asynchronous-first environment, with an approach reflecting GitLab's values, especially transparency and efficiency.

  • Own relationships with sell-side analysts and the investment community; monitor analyst models and consensus against the company forecast, and flag gaps or risks to the head of IR and CFO.
  • Prepare the CEO, CFO, and other executives for investor meetings, conferences, and roadshows; lead investor calls independently when executives are unavailable and answer investor questions about GitLab's business.
  • Analyze peer and competitor earnings, SEC filings, and investor days; maintain benchmarking analyses and deliver quantitative and qualitative insights for executive and board discussions.
  • Track GitLab's shareholder base and recommend investor targeting strategies to expand and maintain key ownership positions.
  • Draft and review earnings decks, shareholder letters, fact sheets, and IR website content; partner with Finance, Legal, Communications, and Strategy to maintain consistent, accurate, and compliant messaging, including compliance with Regulation FD.
