About The Position

PSEG is looking for a Summer 2026 Staff Intern for State Government Affairs. This job involves working as a Summer Intern supporting the State Government Affairs ("SGA") organization in identifying key political and policy issues impacting the business as well as assisting the organization in the implementation of PSEG's public affairs objectives. The internship will provide administrative skills essential to career development, along with a broadened understanding of the workings of a nonprofit organization. This position will be Hybrid Flexible.

Requirements

  • Must be actively pursuing a bachelor's or master's degree from an accredited institution in Public Policy or Political Science.
  • Graduating between December 2026 and May 2029. Students graduating in May/June 2026 are not eligible unless they are enrolling in a post-graduate degree program in the fall term of 2026.
  • Incumbents must have completed freshman level course work for consideration.
  • A valid driver's license and a safe driving record is required.
  • Must be able to commute to their designated work location as needed.

Responsibilities

  • Assist the State Government Affairs team with advocacy efforts including attending/monitoring legislative committee meetings and company sponsored community events.
  • Monitoring and tracking of state legislation and policy developments for the creation of legislative updates.
