Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Chemical, Civil, Environmental, Mechanical Engineering, or a related engineering discipline
  • 5 years of experience in industrial wastewater treatment engineering
  • Solid understanding of wastewater treatment processes, process equipment, and treatment system design principles
  • Demonstrated proficiency in engineering calculations, technical report preparation, and data analysis
  • Comfortable working within multidisciplinary project teams
  • Strong communication and problem-solving skills
  • Proactive learning mindset and desire to develop increasing technical and project responsibilities

Nice To Haves

  • Master's degree in Engineering or related field
  • 7 years of industrial wastewater treatment experience
  • Professional Engineer (PE) license in New York, or the ability to obtain licensure through reciprocity within six months of hire
  • Experience with industrial wastewater treatment technologies—including biological treatment, membrane systems, filtration, evaporation, crystallization, water reuse, or resource recovery applications

Responsibilities

  • Support the evaluation, design, and implementation of industrial wastewater treatment systems, including physical, chemical, biological, membrane, adsorption, filtration, disinfection, thermal evaporation, and crystallization processes.
  • Prepare engineering calculations, process analyses, technical reports, design documentation, and treatment system specifications.
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, project managers, and subject matter experts to deliver high-quality projects safely, on schedule, and within budget.
  • Support client engagements, site investigations, pilot studies, equipment selection, construction support, commissioning, and operational troubleshooting activities.
  • Maintain compliance with Arcadis quality, safety, and technical standards while contributing to continuous improvement initiatives.
