Arcadis is seeking a Staff Industrial Wastewater Engineer to join our growing Industrial Water team in Syracuse, NY. Requirements

Bachelor's degree in Chemical, Civil, Environmental, Mechanical Engineering, or a related engineering discipline
5 years of experience in industrial wastewater treatment engineering
Solid understanding of wastewater treatment processes, process equipment, and treatment system design principles
Demonstrated proficiency in engineering calculations, technical report preparation, and data analysis
Comfortable working within multidisciplinary project teams
Strong communication and problem-solving skills
Proactive learning mindset and desire to develop increasing technical and project responsibilities

Nice To Haves

Master's degree in Engineering or related field
7 years of industrial wastewater treatment experience
Professional Engineer (PE) license in New York, or the ability to obtain licensure through reciprocity within six months of hire
Experience with industrial wastewater treatment technologies—including biological treatment, membrane systems, filtration, evaporation, crystallization, water reuse, or resource recovery applications

Responsibilities

Contribute to the planning, design, and implementation of industrial wastewater treatment projects from concept development through commissioning and startup.
Apply engineering expertise to develop innovative and sustainable treatment solutions while supporting successful project delivery for industrial clients across North America.
Support the evaluation, design, and implementation of industrial wastewater treatment systems, including physical, chemical, biological, membrane, adsorption, filtration, disinfection, thermal evaporation, and crystallization processes.
Prepare engineering calculations, process analyses, technical reports, design documentation, and treatment system specifications.
Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, project managers, and subject matter experts to deliver high-quality projects safely, on schedule, and within budget.
Support client engagements, site investigations, pilot studies, equipment selection, construction support, commissioning, and operational troubleshooting activities.
Maintain compliance with Arcadis quality, safety, and technical standards while contributing to continuous improvement initiatives.
