About The Position

Kleinfelder's Design team is looking for a Staff Geotechnical Professional to join their team. This role is responsible for assisting Project Engineers/Project Managers in executing field investigations and potential construction oversight. The position will also involve reviewing and compiling geotechnical laboratory and field-testing results, performing geotechnical analyses, and writing reports. This is an opportunity to work on a variety of energy, commercial, transportation infrastructure, and construction projects with a talented team of professionals.

Requirements

  • 4-8 years of geotechnical engineering or geology experience.
  • Positive work attitude and ability to work safely and efficiently when managing multiple tasks.
  • Ability to work independently or with a team in a multi-disciplinary environment.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Intermediate knowledge of MS Office, Including Word, Excel, and Power Point preferred.
  • An ability to communicate clearly and effectively with peers, supervisors, clients, and subcontractors.
  • Bachelor's degree in Civil, Geological, or Mining Engineering, or Geology.
  • Satisfactorily complete employment reference checks, verification of professional licensure and/or educational credentials, a motor vehicle report (MVR), and a comprehensive background check.

Nice To Haves

  • MS Geotechnical Engineering/Geology is a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Assist the Project Engineers/Project Managers and participate in field assignments including boring layout and utility clearance, coordination with drilling contractors, supervision of drilling and geotechnical field investigations, logging of borings and test pits.
  • Assist with lab testing assignment, compilation of lab and field testing results.
  • Perform geotechnical engineering analysis under supervision including soil/rock classification, slope stability analysis, earth retention systems, shallow and deep foundation design, settlement, ground improvement, and geologic hazard evaluation.
  • Assist the Project Engineers/Managers and prepare geotechnical reports.
