About The Position
TTL is an engineering design firm founded in 1964 that provides integrated infrastructure solutions to public and private clients. The Staff Geotechnical Engineer works on a variety of project types and with multidisciplinary teams. With support from a supervisor or experienced engineer, the role contributes to field and laboratory activities, project planning and oversight, engineering analysis, foundation design, report preparation, and client communication. The position is based in San Antonio, Texas.
Requirements
- Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering.
- Zero to two years of geotechnical engineering consulting experience.
- Texas Engineer-in-Training certificate.
- Good driving record.
Nice To Haves
- Master of Science degree preferred.
Responsibilities
- Perform field activities, including sample collection, field boring log preparation, staking boring locations, and field electrical resistivity testing.
- Design and communicate project plans and direct their execution with field and laboratory staff.
- Oversee assigned project field activities.
- Assign laboratory testing.
- Create boring logs, perform calculations, and develop engineering recommendations.
- Prepare engineering reports.
- Perform foundation design calculations and analysis, and prepare plans.
- Communicate with clients about project status, field and laboratory testing results, and engineering recommendations.
