Staff Geotechnical Engineer
About The Position
Intertek is seeking a Staff Geotechnical Engineer to join their Professional Services Industries Inc. (Intertek-PSI) team in Kennesaw, GA. This role is an entry-level position for technical/professional work, focusing on conducting Geotechnical engineering for local projects under the close supervision of an experienced professional. The engineer will perform specific and limited portions of broader assignments, applying standard techniques and procedures. The job schedule may include some nights and weekends as needed. Ideal candidates are recent graduates with a Bachelor's Degree in Civil, Geotechnical, or Geological Engineering.
Requirements
- BS Degree in Civil, Geotechnical, or Geological Engineering required.
- Strong background in soil mechanics with extensive knowledge of Geotechnical analysis and laboratory testing of soil.
- Capable of conducting and supervising field exploration activities.
- Valid Driver's License and reliable driving record required.
Nice To Haves
- MS in Geotechnical Engineering is preferred.
- Geotechnical engineering experience is preferred.
- Experience in Geotechnical report preparation and development of appropriate Geotechnical recommendations is highly preferred.
- E.I.T. is strongly preferred.
Responsibilities
- Conduct and execute Geotechnical project assignments including engineering analysis, report preparation, field exploration, and laboratory services.
- Provide project-level development of proposals and reports and ensure client commitments are met.
- Perform field and laboratory sampling and testing.
- Provide oversight and testing on Geotechnical projects during design and construction.
