About The Position

Plenful is seeking a Staff Frontend UX Platform Engineer to establish the foundations of our product experience. This role involves creating shared tools, patterns, and architecture to ensure product teams deliver interfaces that are consistent, accessible, and performant. The position is a hands-on staff role requiring the ability to set technical direction, resolve complex issues, and enhance the effectiveness of other engineers.

Requirements

• 10+ years of professional software engineering experience, with substantial experience building frontend applications at scale.
• Strong, hands-on knowledge of JavaScript, TypeScript, React.
• A track record of leading frontend architecture or platform work across multiple teams.
• Sound judgment about when to create shared abstractions and how to keep them useful as a product grows.
• Experience collaborating closely with designers and product partners on user-facing work.
• Clear communication skills and the ability to lead through both code and technical guidance.

Nice To Haves

• Experience working with Python and FastAPI.
• Experience working at a health-tech startup
• Familiarity with FHIR, HL7

Responsibilities

• Lead the architecture and evolution of our frontend UX platform, including shared components, design system foundations, and developer tooling.
• Build product experiences and reusable infrastructure with TypeScript and React.
• Work across the stack with Python and FastAPI to design and integrate APIs that support excellent user experiences.
• Establish practical standards for accessibility, performance, testing, and frontend maintainability.
• Partner with design, product, and engineering teams to turn complex workflows into intuitive interfaces.
• Mentor engineers, review technical designs, and drive improvements across teams.
