About The Position

This highly technical role is part of CooperSurgical’s R&D New Product Development group and develops firmware and electronics systems for electromechanical product launches. The work includes connected systems and devices for In-vitro Fertilization (IVF) and Assisted Reproductive Technologies (ART), with possible involvement in surgical devices and instruments for Obstetrics and Gynecology (OBGYN). The integrated Front-end Innovations and New Product Development setting offers involvement across the product lifecycle, from user-centered front-end innovation through product development and market launch. The Staff Firmware Engineer defines firmware architecture, codes and prototypes firmware, and verifies firmware, electrical, and electronics designs for complex product development initiatives. Working independently under limited supervision, the engineer owns project workstreams in firmware and electrical engineering, contributes to R&D technical direction, collaborates with multidisciplinary teams, and interfaces with development partners and users to develop robust solutions. The role is primarily site-based, with occasional travel for cross-functional meetings, vendor visits, training, or conferences.
