About The Position

This is a highly technical role in CooperSurgical’s R&D New Product Development group, developing firmware and electronics systems for electromechanical product launches. The work focuses on connected systems and devices for In-vitro Fertilization (IVF) and Assisted Reproductive Technologies (ART), with potential involvement in surgical devices and instruments in Obstetrics and Gynecology (OBGYN). The integrated Front-end Innovations and New Product Development setting offers involvement in end-to-end product development, from user-centered innovation through product development and market launch. The Staff Firmware Engineer defines firmware architecture, codes and prototypes firmware, and verifies firmware, electrical, and electronics designs for complex product initiatives. Working independently under limited supervision, the engineer owns project workstreams in firmware and electrical engineering, contributes to R&D technical direction, collaborates with cross-functional teams, and leads development partners and user communities in creating robust designs and solutions. The role is primarily site-based and involves occasional travel for cross-functional meetings, vendor visits, training, or conferences.
