Our Great Falls team is expanding and would encourage applicants to consider relocating to the area! Requirements

  • Good understanding of engineering fundamentals in fields that may include road/street design and other transportation related design; water distribution modeling and main extension design; sewer main extension design; structural engineering design; storm water drainage, including hydrology and hydraulics; and technical specification writing.
  • Knowledge of survey practices and construction staking
  • Knowledge of geotechnical practices and material testing
  • Knowledge of permitting requirements and skills related to obtaining permits
  • Knowledge of local and state codes
  • Familiarity with Design Manuals
  • Computer Aided Drafting and Design (CADD) skills
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office software
  • Communication and writing skills
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relations with co-workers and clientele in a team-oriented environment
  • Ability to function independently
  • Capability to conduct public relations activities required for projects which may include client contact, city and county governments, state agencies, federal agencies, and public meetings.
  • B.A. or B.S. in Civil Engineering
  • Licensed Engineering Intern (E.I.)

Responsibilities

  • Serves at the direction and under the supervision of the project engineer/manager
  • Provides engineering research and data for projects
  • Utilizes computer drafting and analysis software to assist in design
  • Assists in writing engineering reports, design specifications, and contract documents
  • Performs field survey, material testing, data collection, and site inspections/evaluations
  • Observes construction activity to ensure compatibility with designed plans
  • Attends team meetings with project staff and clients and effectively communicates project plans, progress, issues, and concerns
  • Prepares for and attends public meetings regarding project activity and addresses client and the public’s concerns
