About The Position
SCS Engineers is hiring a Civil or Environmental Engineer to support growth in its solid waste, electric utility, and environmental compliance work in the Green Bay/Fox Valley area. The role involves assignments in an office or work-from-home setting, regular site visits, and occasional longer-term field work. The engineer will assist with technical reports, compliance documents, and engineering designs, working with Project Managers and Engineers on a variety of solid waste, electric utility, and environmental management projects. The position is based in the Green Bay/Fox Valley area.
Requirements
- Bachelor of Science degree in Civil Engineering, Environmental Engineering, or a related engineering major.
- Two years of related work experience.
- Competency using MS Office and other computer software normally used in engineering consulting.
- Ability to read and understand engineering plans and specifications.
- Valid driver's license and driving record in good standing.
Nice To Haves
- Consulting industry experience, including environmental compliance and solid waste.
- Professional Engineer track, with the ability to obtain licensure after five years of experience.
- Experience using AutoCAD Civil 3D design software.
Responsibilities
- Follow SCS health and safety protocols.
- Conduct site visits and perform environmental monitoring.
- Perform CAD drafting using AutoCAD and Civil 3D.
- Assist with the design and permitting of solid waste and electric utility facilities.
- Prepare permit applications and coordinate with regulatory agencies.
- Prepare calculations for reports and design documents.
- Review technical documents for completeness and conformance to requirements.
- Communicate with clients about field work coordination, project updates, reporting, design document status, permitting status, and meetings.
- Conduct and document construction quality assurance observations for compliance with construction documents.
- Prepare proposals and cost estimates.
