About The Position

As a Staff Mechanical Engineer in our Research & Development team, you’ll lead the design and development of life-changing devices that directly impact patient outcomes. Work Flexibility: Hybrid: candidates must reside within commuting distance of Tempe, AZ and be able to work onsite several days per week.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Science, or a related field.
  • Minimum 4 years of relevant engineering experience.
  • Experience designing mechanical or electro-mechanical assemblies.
  • Experience with Computer-Aided Engineering (CAE) tools and Design for Manufacturability (DFM) principles.

Nice To Haves

  • Knowledge of materials and manufacturing processes.
  • Familiarity with risk management and quality systems in a regulated environment.
  • Proficiency in engineering drawing creation and application of Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T).

Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, and verify components and subsystems for medical devices with minimal supervision.
  • Translate user needs into design specifications and deliver system-level solutions.
  • Lead prototyping and testing efforts to validate design performance.
  • Use various tools and equipment to fabricate, assemble, modify, and troubleshoot fixtures, tooling, and equipment in support of engineering development, testing, and process improvement activities.
  • Identify and resolve complex design issues using data-driven analysis to improve processes and outcomes.
  • Apply clinical knowledge to author design inputs and support Voice of Customer sessions.
  • Ensure compliance with industry standards and mentor others in design control practices.
  • Create and maintain engineering documentation, including Design History Files.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally to drive projects from concept through launch.
