As a Staff Engineer II, you will provide expertise in a suite of technical tools and products within a specific domain, ensuring solutions are safe, secure, compliant, and reliable. Your role involves identifying development and support needs, taking on design responsibilities for project tasks, and collaborating on the maintenance and management of UPS, telecommunications, routing, switching, and datacenter infrastructure. You will be responsible for producing various diagrams and documentation for the network organization, as well as inspecting, evaluating, and making recommendations for telecom contracts. You will facilitate team collaboration, including cross-domain teams, and develop effective presentations and narratives. Key responsibilities include leading strategic planning for technical solution design, implementing engineering principles for reliability and recovery, and designing application performance monitoring metrics. You will develop and maintain technical documentation, ensure compliance with IT policies and industry standards, and create desktop procedures. The position requires providing senior-level leadership for telecommunications and ISP services, acting as a technical authority for carrier design and redundancy, and supporting site activities like builds, upgrades, and decommissioning. You will serve as an escalation point for complex telecom incidents, maintain accurate documentation, and support contract negotiations, renewals, and RFPs. Additionally, you will assist with billing disputes, cost optimization, and ensure compliance with enterprise Governance, Risk, and Compliance (GRC) requirements, including participating in risk assessments and supporting audits. Mentoring Engineers and Analysts and delivering executive-level presentations are also part of the role.
