About The Position

As a Hardware and Silicon Validation Staff Engineer at Marvell, you’ll be helping to deliver high bandwidth over long distances. This team performs analog validations on amplifiers that drive optical electronic devices and receivers. We also validate silicon photonics, do upper electronic measurements and support the coherent digital signal programming unit. This is a niche area at Marvell, working with cutting edge technologies used by many internal and external customers around the world.

Requirements

  • Master’s or foreign equivalent degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field.
  • Work/internship experience or completed graduate coursework/research in Protocol Analyzers tools for Network Protocols.
  • Work/internship experience or completed graduate coursework/research in Linux / Windows and Network Device administration including consoles and switches.
  • Work/internship experience or completed graduate coursework/research in Working with observability tools.
  • Work/internship experience or completed graduate coursework/research in Build systems like make, cmake, arm toolchain, docker.
  • Work/internship experience or completed graduate coursework/research in Low-level programming and debugging in C/C++ and Rust.
  • Work/internship experience or completed graduate coursework/research in Developing bare metal SW programming with a focus on bootloaders.
  • Work/internship experience or completed graduate coursework/research in Linux device driver development and debug, including kernel logs and crash/panic analysis.
  • Work/internship experience or completed graduate coursework/research in Multiple compiler toolchains like Arm toolchain.
  • Work/internship experience or completed graduate coursework/research in Linux, VMware ESXI, AWS Cloud.
  • Work/internship experience or completed graduate coursework/research in Improving CI/CD performance.
  • Work/internship experience or completed graduate coursework/research in Performance analysis and profiling tools.

Responsibilities

  • Design and develop validation test plans.
  • Perform validation and debug activities.
  • Bring up different hardware components on emulation setups.
  • Develop firmware and validation scripts to automate pre-silicon validation.
  • Debug hardware issues with designers, validate the fix or provide proper workaround.
  • Develop and execute comprehensive validation plans on emulation platform.
  • Develop Firmware according to JEDEC specifications.
  • Write Diagnostic tests to diagnose issues with DDR4, DDR5, LPDDR5 and CXL memory expander devices.
  • Develops FW & tools enabling customers to evaluate various controller RAS capabilities as well as PHY training options.
  • Perform debugging of various issues related to DDR.
  • Perform Code Review, performance analysis of product based on firmware changes.
