About The Position

The Staff Engineer Data & Intelligence owns and evolves data architecture across the Data & Intelligence cluster and builds batch and streaming pipelines to ingest, enrich, and process charging, POI, traffic, and market data. The role performs complex data analysis and translates findings into clear recommendations for internal stakeholders and customers. It researches, builds, and evaluates forecasting models for charge point and site utilization, including backtesting, error metrics, and drift monitoring, and develops and simulates smart pricing approaches before live rollout. The position documents architectural and modelling decisions, communicates trade-offs to technical and non-technical audiences, and develops engineers and analysts through workshops, pair programming, design reviews, and code-quality feedback. It drives AWS and Databricks infrastructure decisions relevant to data delivery, with attention to cloud costs, and identifies AI tooling to improve analysis, development productivity, and data quality. This is a permanent, full-time role with flexible working hours and a remote-first arrangement; the company also has a headquarters in Cologne and coworking spaces across Germany.
