About The Position

As a Staff Electrical Engineer on Anduril’s Warfighter Systems division, you will support a CEO-priority program developing a soldier-portable, auto-aiming counter-UAS system. The system includes an actuator-driven steerable platform, computer-vision models, a LIDAR ballistic calculator, and onboard power and compute. You will take an existing prototype through ruggedization and toward a production-ready Weapon Systems design, using components and processes suitable for manufacturing at scale. You will own the electrical architecture, assess the prototype, document existing knowledge, identify subsystem gaps, and develop a roadmap toward a full prototype with production-intent architecture and parts. You will lead and help build a multidisciplinary engineering team, design and integrate electrical subsystems, establish and execute tests, and adjust the technical approach based on results. The role also includes qualifying the integrated prototype for the environmental conditions of a soldier-carried platform, transitioning the design toward early production, and communicating program status to executive and CEO-level stakeholders.

Requirements

  • B.S. or higher in Electrical Engineering or a related technical field.
  • At least 8 years of professional electrical engineering experience, with demonstrated design ownership of complex electromechanical systems.
  • Proven ability to lead and manage a multidisciplinary engineering team to rapidly iterate and prototype hardware systems.
  • Demonstrated experience taking hardware from bench prototype through ruggedization to early manufacturing.
  • Familiarity with actuator dynamics, including bandwidth, force, and speed trade-offs, and associated drive electronics and control systems.
  • Breadth across electrical engineering subsystems, including electro-optical/IR sensors, power and compute board design, and closed-loop control systems.
  • Ability to author and execute pragmatic test plans, interpret results, and change course as needed to deliver a working product on an aggressive timeline.
  • Self-starter mentality, with the ability to identify problems, propose solutions, and execute with minimal oversight.
  • U.S. Person status, as the role requires access to export-controlled data.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience designing soldier-portable platforms, with practical awareness of SWaP and ergonomic constraints.
  • Experience with sensor fusion, computer-vision model integration, and system-level algorithm pipelines.
  • Background in counter-UAS, fire control, or precision targeting systems.
  • Experience designing for extreme shock, vibration, and environmental sealing in defense or ruggedized applications.
  • Experience communicating program status to executive- and CEO-level stakeholders.
  • Active Secret Security clearance or higher, or prior cleared work with the ability to obtain and maintain a clearance.

Responsibilities

  • Own the end-to-end electrical architecture, assess the existing prototype, document tribal knowledge, and identify electrical engineering gaps across power, sensing, compute, and actuator-drive subsystems.
  • Develop a technical roadmap from the current prototype to a full Weapon Systems prototype with production-intent parts and architecture.
  • Help hire and lead a multidisciplinary electrical, mechanical, and software engineering team for rapid hardware iteration and prototyping.
  • Drive the design and integration of electro-optical/IR sensors, power and compute boards, actuator-drive electronics, and control systems, balancing bandwidth, force, speed, SWaP, and ruggedization trade-offs.
  • Establish and execute test plans for electro-optical, actuator, and power subsystems; interpret results and change course as needed to deliver a working product on a short timeline.
  • Ruggedize, qualify, and certify the integrated prototype against expected shock, vibration, thermal, and environmental conditions for a soldier-carried platform.
  • Transition the validated design into early production in collaboration with manufacturing, test/evaluation, and supply chain teams.
  • Communicate program status and technical state to executive- and CEO-level stakeholders.

Benefits

  • Highly competitive equity grants are included in the majority of full-time offers and are part of total compensation.
  • Top-tier benefits for full-time employees, described as comprehensive and competitive and available at little to no cost to employees.
