About The Position

GSK's Enterprise AI team translates AI opportunities into measurable impact across the company. In this senior individual-contributor role, you will own a major part of the Global Functions portfolio, spanning HR, Legal, Compliance, Procurement, Finance, and Corporate Communications. You will identify and shape high-value AI opportunities, build the cases to fund and deploy them, prototype solutions, and guide engineering priorities and measures of success. You will not manage engineers; instead, you will set the forward-deployed strategy for your domain and work closely with engineering and business leaders to determine what teams build and how impact is evaluated. The role combines opportunity selection, product strategy, hands-on AI work, executive alignment, and oversight of end-to-end engagements. You will shape solutions for functional workflows while accounting for relevant controls, regulatory requirements, data governance, and human oversight. You will also apply and improve Enterprise AI's value-realization framework and share lessons from completed engagements to improve future decisions.

Requirements

  • At least 10 years of professional experience across some combination of pharma or life sciences, AI/ML product strategy, and product management or strategy roles in technology-led organizations.
  • Track record of taking at least one technology or AI initiative from problem framing through funding and into delivery.
  • Direct involvement in, or close partnership with, at least one Global Function—Legal and Compliance, HR, Finance, Corporate Communications, or Procurement—including its core end-to-end processes.
  • Hands-on work with modern AI/ML concepts, including LLMs, agentic systems, digital workers, the ML lifecycle, and data and evaluation patterns, demonstrated through prototyping.
  • Experience as an individual contributor without direct reports, influencing engineering and business teams through frameworks and documented decision criteria.
  • Background in product management or product strategy, including opportunity sizing, roadmap development, prototyping, and stakeholder alignment.
  • Working knowledge of enterprise systems and data used by Global Functions, such as SAP, Workday, Ariba or Coupa, contract lifecycle management tools, and case management or knowledge tools, including data ownership, quality, permissioning, and unstructured documents and text.
  • Track record of identifying AI value in high-volume, knowledge-intensive work such as review, drafting, triage, reconciliation, monitoring, or query handling.
  • Working knowledge of controls and regulatory constraints on AI in functional work, including SOX and financial controls, legal privilege and confidentiality, employee data privacy and works councils, anti-bribery and third-party due diligence, disclosure obligations, and EU AI Act high-risk categories.
  • Direct involvement in partnering with senior functional leaders, such as the CFO, CHRO, General Counsel, Chief Procurement Officer, or Chief Communications Officer, to turn transformation priorities into funded, measurable AI programs.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience working across more than one Global Function.
  • Experience navigating GxP, regulatory, and data-governance requirements in pharma AI deployments.
  • Experience codifying product management and user research practices into AI-native tools, such as skills, plugins, and markdown files, and using the command line to automate daily work.

Responsibilities

  • Identify high-value AI opportunities across Global Functions workflows, including record-to-report, hire-to-retire, source-to-pay, contract-to-signature, and message development and approval; build and rank a structured product pipeline by impact, feasibility, and time-to-value.
  • Build rigorous business cases using measures such as cycle time, cost-to-serve, risk reduction, hours returned, and spend under management.
  • Develop understanding of functional workflows across shared services, centers of expertise, and business partners to identify AI opportunities that have not yet been articulated by the business.
  • Maintain a current view of in-flight, queued, and de-prioritized opportunities, document decision rationales, and feed the portfolio into Enterprise AI's broader portfolio.
  • Define success metrics, analyze competing opportunities, recommend engineering resource trade-offs, and use evidence to deprioritize work that will not produce scalable outcomes.
  • Partner with forward-deployed, full-stack, and data engineering leads to translate ambiguous business needs into problem statements, prototypes, success metrics, and decision frameworks.
  • Shape engagements end-to-end by defining scope, success criteria, exit conditions, and scaling pathways before kickoff, and staying involved during execution.
  • Identify opportunities for reuse and platform leverage, and work with engineering to assess when one-off solutions should become reusable capabilities.
  • Design the division of work between digital workers, engineers, and business users, including evaluation and oversight to support safe deployment.
  • Build applicable controls and requirements into solutions, including SOX and financial controls, legal privilege and confidentiality, employee data privacy and works council requirements, anti-bribery and third-party due diligence, disclosure obligations, and EU AI Act high-risk requirements.
  • Work with VP-level business and functional leaders to turn broad ambitions into concrete, fundable AI engagements across functions with differing cultures, risk appetites, and working practices.
  • Build sponsor coalitions and secure the data access, change-management commitment, and executive support required for engagements.
  • Communicate impact in terms that connect AI work to patients, science, and enterprise outcomes.
  • Apply Enterprise AI's value-realization framework to measure engagements and improve the framework based on experience.
  • Conduct post-mortems, capture lessons learned, and feed them into opportunity selection and engagement design.
