About The Position

Overjet is seeking a Staff DevOps Engineer to build and architect the software, systems, and automation infrastructure that powers its healthcare AI products. The role partners with engineering teams to shape technical strategy, mentor engineers, and own critical systems that enable reliable, scalable delivery. Working across infrastructure, security, and developer experience, the engineer serves as a technical advisor across the organization and builds solutions that affect engineering broadly.

The position is based in one of Overjet’s designated geohubs: San Francisco/Bay Area, New York, or Boston. Overjet describes its workplace as hybrid, with employees in geohubs coming to the office Tuesdays and Wednesdays and having the option to work from home the rest of the week. The role includes planned, periodic on-call duties during non-working hours.

Requirements

• Five or more years of experience in Software Engineering, DevOps, Site Reliability Engineering (SRE), or Platform Engineering, demonstrating increasing scope and impact.
• Extensive experience with AWS, GCP, or Azure, including architecture, deployment, and scaling of complex production systems.
• Proven experience with observability, automation, performance engineering in cloud environments, and Continuous Integration and Delivery.
• Hands-on experience with Kubernetes for deploying and managing containerized applications.
• Strong knowledge of GitOps tools such as ArgoCD for Kubernetes deployments.
• Familiarity with Crossplane and Terraform for managing infrastructure abstractions.
• Experience with monitoring tools such as Prometheus and Grafana.
• Proficiency in one or more programming languages, such as Python or Go.
• Experience with API Gateway and/or Service Mesh.
• Experience implementing Single Sign-On (SSO) for secure access control and familiarity with Role-Based Access Control (RBAC) for fine-grained access management.
• Strong collaboration and communication skills, with the ability to work effectively across multiple teams.
• Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, technical, and mission-focused environment.
• Must be located in one of Overjet’s designated geohubs: San Francisco/Bay Area, New York, or Boston.

Responsibilities

• Establish and maintain scalable, reliable, secure, and developer-friendly systems and infrastructure.
• Develop software and systems that enhance the overall developer experience.
• Partner with engineering teams to identify and implement solutions that improve product reliability, quality, and time-to-market.
• Collaborate with the Security team to ensure system security and adherence to regulatory compliance standards.
• Lead complex technical initiatives and drive organizational improvements across teams.
• Mentor DevOps and Software Engineers through design reviews and technical guidance.
• Work with engineering leadership to establish technical direction and best practices for infrastructure, observability, and CI/CD.
• Maintain a high standard for system architecture and design while keeping solutions simple.
• Participate in planned, periodic on-call duties during non-working hours.
