About The Position

The Staff Development Specialist is responsible for designing training plans, competencies, and conducting educational programs for nursing staff and other members of the Meadowood team. This role develops and coordinates a new employee competency-based orientation program, monitors new employees throughout their individualized orientation period, and oversees annual training compliance and competency testing. The position also holds ownership of the Mission and Vision at Meadowood.

Requirements

Licensed Registered Nurse
3-5 years’ experience with the geriatric population
Ability to mentor/ coach/ educate all levels of staff
Positive energy and enthusiasm for developing staff’s strengths
Strong organizational skills
Good public speaker

Responsibilities

Designing training plans, competencies, and conducting educational programs for nursing staff and other members of the Meadowood team.
Developing and coordinating new employee competency-based orientation program.
Monitoring new employees throughout their individualized orientation period.
Overseeing annual training compliance and competency testing.
Serving as Primary Instructor for the Pennsylvania Department of Education–approved Nurse Aide Training Program, when applicable.
