About The Position

The Illinois Criminal Justice Information Authority (ICJIA) is seeking to hire a Staff Development Specialist. The ideal candidate will be detail oriented, organized, creative, have great communication skills, and be willing to collaborate with cross-functional teams to provide high quality training. This position will collaborate with the HR Training Manager to develop, update, evaluate, and deliver training materials, strategies, and programs for ICJIA as well as communicate with unit managers and directors and other groups to formulate training modules. Requirements

  • Requires knowledge, skill, and mental development equivalent to completion of four years of college. Academic coursework should include quantitative measures (introductory statistics or business mathematics or social science analytical tools), educational methods, psychology of individuals, organizational or group behavior, labor relations, or equivalents.
  • Requires two years of professional experience in education or a related field.
  • Requires proper documentation for approved work in the United States.
  • Requires ability to travel.
  • Requires a valid and current driver’s license.
  • Requires ability to pass a background check.
  • Requires the ability to work remotely and in-person as operational needs require.

Nice To Haves

  • Prefers (2) years’ professional experience utilizing the use of behavioral competencies required to effectively facilitate learning and applying knowledge in the modern workplace in support of organizational goals.
  • Prefers (2) years’ professional experience preparing training aids and written materials and assisting in the applications and usages of audio and visual training aids.
  • Prefers (2) years’ professional experience utilizing video editing software to create and edit eLearning courses.
  • Prefers (2) years’ professional using a learning management system.
  • Prefers (2) years’ professional training experience in instructor led, on-demand, and live webinar training.

Responsibilities

  • Administers the organization’s Learning Management System by launching and monitoring training.
  • Works alongside management and executive leadership to address their program development/curriculum development training needs.
  • Manages and keeps record of employee training and certifications.
  • Works alongside management to provide on going support to new and established employees.
  • Provides back up support to the Human Resources team.
  • Performs other duties as required or assigned, which are reasonably within the scope of the enumerated above.
