About The Position

Analog Devices’ Power Control team is seeking a highly experienced Staff Design Evaluation Engineer to support its Datacenter and Energy Business Unit at the Research Triangle Park location in North Carolina. The team develops next-generation controllers and power regulation devices, including power controllers for datacenters and general-purpose products for broad markets. The role provides technical leadership in defining and advancing post-silicon validation strategy across products and programs. The engineer will direct evaluation efforts, develop methodologies, and represent the evaluation function in cross-organizational and customer-facing engagements, working with significant autonomy and influencing outcomes beyond the immediate team.

Requirements

MSEE, or BSEE with significant industry experience.
At least 6 years of hands-on experience in semiconductor post-silicon validation, characterization, and debug.
Demonstrated expertise in power management ICs, including controllers, converters, LDOs, and PMICs.
Experience with lab equipment including DMM, oscilloscope, function generator, logic analyzer, spectrum analyzer, network analyzer, SMU, and electronic loads.
Ability to automate lab bench setups using Python, C, C#, or equivalent.
Experience developing evaluation hardware, including PCB schematic entry, layout, and debug using tools such as SPICE, Altium, PADs, or Allegro.
Excellent communication skills and ability to influence across, up, and down the organization.
Track record of mentoring engineers and directing technical work without formal management authority.

Nice To Haves

Familiarity with a broad range of power supply topologies and control schemes.
Experience with National Instruments PXI or similar automated test platforms.
Experience with FPGA development for test and measurement applications.
Knowledge of the industry landscape for power applications.

Responsibilities

Lead post-silicon validation strategy for complex and critical power IC programs, from pre-silicon planning through production release.
Develop and advance evaluation methodologies, measurement techniques, and test frameworks across the team.
Provide technical leadership before tape-out, influencing design-for-test decisions and evaluation readiness across concurrent programs.
Develop and champion AI tools and advanced automation to accelerate design evaluation development and execution.
Lead resolution of complex characterization and silicon debug problems through in-depth analysis of multiple variable factors.
Represent the evaluation team as a principal technical contact with design leads, applications engineering, and cross-organizational stakeholders.
Coordinate regularly with management and senior personnel on matters across organizational lines.
Direct the work of less experienced engineers, model professional behaviors, and mentor team members in their career growth and technical development.
Promote collaborative teamwork and knowledge sharing.
Work with cross-functional, multi-site test, design, applications, and business teams, often serving in a project leadership capacity.
Anticipate changes in project direction or business needs and proactively redirect evaluation efforts.
