About The Position

Northrop Grumman’s Space Systems Sector is seeking an experienced Staff Cloud and DevOps Engineer to support programs focused on rapid capability maturation and deployment. The position can be based in Aurora, Colorado; Morrisville, North Carolina; or Sacramento, California. Relocation assistance may be available. The role requires an active U.S. Government Top Secret clearance and an active U.S. Government CI Polygraph at application, with the ability to obtain and maintain SCI approval/access.

The engineer plans and evolves processes and infrastructure, builds and configures delivery environments, and defines standards for building, deploying, provisioning, and monitoring. The role works with Agile development teams to automate infrastructure management and end-to-end CI/CD workflows, improve system efficiency, and support reliable, secure operations. The position also monitors and maintains installed systems and infrastructure, troubleshoots problems with vendors and IT personnel, and evaluates application performance and potential bottlenecks.

The primary salary range is $169,000–$265,600. Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus. Northrop Grumman offers health insurance, life and disability insurance, a savings plan, company-paid holidays, and paid time off.

Requirements

• U.S. citizenship.
• Active U.S. Government Top Secret security clearance at application, current and within scope, with the ability to obtain and maintain SCI approval/access.
• Active U.S. Government CI Polygraph at application, current and within scope.
• Bachelor’s degree and 12 or more years of relevant experience; or 10 years with a master’s degree; or 8 years with a Ph.D.; or 9 additional years of experience in lieu of a degree.
• Experience with AWS, Kubernetes, and Terraform.
• Current Security+ certification.
• Administration experience with Linux or related operating systems.
• Experience in an Agile software development framework.
• Experience with at least three preferred qualifications.

Responsibilities

• Plan and evolve processes and infrastructure for programs supporting rapid capability maturation and deployment.
• Integrate development pipelines using automation, test-driven development tools, and continuous integration/test frameworks.
• Define and implement program standards for builds, deployments, provisioning, and monitoring.
• Ensure software configuration management, code quality, code coverage, and automated testing are implemented in CI/CD pipelines.
• Work with an Agile development team to deliver end-to-end automation for deployment, monitoring, and infrastructure management.
• Build and configure delivery environments that support CI/CD tools using an Agile delivery methodology.
• Create scripts or templates to automate infrastructure provisioning and management tasks.
• Work with development teams to create automated continuous integration and continuous delivery systems.
• Coordinate with vendors and other IT personnel to resolve problems.
• Monitor and support installed systems and infrastructure.
• Develop custom scripts to improve system efficiency and reduce human intervention in tasks.
• Contribute to the design of information and operational support systems.
• Install, configure, test, and maintain operating systems, application software, and system management tools.
• Oversee security, backup, and redundancy strategies.
• Evaluate application performance, identify potential bottlenecks, develop solutions, and implement them with developers.
