About The Position

Riverside Community Care is seeking a Staff Clinician for their Life Skills Center, a highly structured, group-based supportive therapeutic day program for adolescents aged 12-18. These adolescents are experiencing mental health challenges that impact their functioning at home, school, and in the community. In this role, staff and youth collaborate to foster an environment of acceptance. The program utilizes therapeutic groups and activities based on best practices to help teens gain insight into their emotions and thinking patterns, develop coping mechanisms, and improve self-esteem. The Somerville center, with a specialization in early psychosis, offers intensive training to build staff expertise. The Staff Clinician will be responsible for assessment, treatment planning, case management, family counseling, and service coordination for assigned adolescents, as well as leading treatment groups. They will also contribute to maintaining a healthy milieu and collaborate with a multi-disciplinary team to provide critical services for teens and families.

Requirements

  • Master’s Degree in Professional Clinical Mental Health Discipline
  • Degree and experience must be in compliance with current program needs to meet Medicaid and Department of Public Health CORE staffing requirements
  • One year experience working with children and/or adolescents with emotional difficulties and their families
  • Experience conducting individual and/or group therapy
  • Experience working in a milieu setting
  • Valid driver’s license
  • Regular access to a reliable vehicle
