About The Position

Walker Therapeutic & Educational Programs is seeking a Clinician to provide case management and ongoing clinical services to CBAT youth and families at Walker’s Needham Campus. The Clinician will offer clinical consultation to direct care and educational staff, and provide ongoing assessment, treatment planning, goal-focused treatment, and discharge planning for assigned youth. This role requires a commitment to child-centered, family-focused, culturally competent care and strength-based treatment. The Clinician will work under the guidance of the CBAT Program Director to ensure clinical services align with the agency mission and core values, emphasizing trauma-informed, relationship-based, family-involved, developmentally focused, competence-centered, and ecologically oriented services. The position involves utilizing evidence-based practices such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy and Solution Focused Therapy, managing a caseload of up to 5 youth, conducting individual and family therapy, and completing written assessments and documentation in a timely manner. The Clinician will also interface with outside systems like DCF, DMH, LEAs, CBHI, and insurance providers, coordinate systems meetings, and collaborate with the CBAT team to implement clinical services in the milieu, including group therapy. Responsibilities include providing clinical consultation to direct care staff, crisis support, and floor coverage as needed, participating in required trainings and professional development, attending multidisciplinary and staff meetings, and assisting with CBAT admissions. The Clinician will also serve as Clinician On-Call for the campus on a rotating basis and perform additional duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Master’s degree in relevant discipline (Social Work, Psychology, Counseling).
  • Must be able to successfully pass and apply Therapeutic Crisis Intervention (TCI) training.
  • Must be able to successfully complete First Aid/CPR training.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Ability to remain calm and make safe decisions in high-pressure situations.
  • Capacity to work effectively in a stressful and fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to learn, retain, and apply principles taught in training and supervision.
  • Physical stamina to participate in activities with children.
  • Ability to stand, walk, and run for extended periods, perform frequent bending, stooping, stretching, lifting, sitting, stairs, typing, and looking at a computer screen.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills and computer experience is required.
  • Ability to meet deadlines and follow through with multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Ability to work flexibly and collaboratively as part of a team, including during times of high stress.
  • Ability to transport clients in company vehicles.
  • Successfully complete all background check suitability requirements.
  • Must have reliable transportation.
  • Valid MA driver’s license preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Provide case management and ongoing clinical services to CBAT youth and families.

  • Maintain consistent and professional communication and complete documentation of all contact and insurance authorizations.
  • Coordinate and facilitate systems meetings for youth on caseload.
  • Work collaboratively with the CBAT team to develop and implement clinical services in the milieu.
  • Conduct group therapy on the units.
  • Provide clinical consultation to direct care staff.
  • Provide crisis support to youth and coverage on the floor as needed.
  • Participate in required trainings and additional professional development opportunities.
  • Attend multidisciplinary team meetings and staff meetings.
  • Assist with CBAT admissions as needed.
  • Serve as Clinician On-Call for the campus on a rotating basis.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.
