GFT is seeking Civil/Structural Engineers to support the design and construction of critical infrastructure projects in Northern California. This is a Hybrid position and would require consistent attendance to our Roseville, CA office. Joining the dams and hydraulics team at GFT means contributing to innovative solutions for sustainable water management and infrastructure. Our team excels in dams and levees, water conveyance (canals, flumes, penstocks), spillways, ground anchors, and rehabilitation of aging infrastructure. With a focus on integrating technology, sustainability, and compliance, we consider each water resources project a chance to innovate and evolve to protect public health and enhance quality of life. What you’ll be challenged to do: This role offers an exciting opportunity to collaborate directly with a multi-disciplinary team including other civil/structural engineers, geotechnical engineers and geologists to implement innovative design solutions through all phases of a project’s lifecycle. Our engineering team excels in tackling the most challenging civil/structural assignments to provide innovative solutions for dams, foundations, underground construction, earth structures, and water conveyance structures. Our engineers are experts in dam stability and seepage, earth retention structures, and structure foundations. In this capacity, the successful candidate will be responsible for the following: Performing routine and complex design, analysis, and engineering calculations, including concrete and steel structures, foundation support, and earth retaining structures. Assisting with the preparation of construction drawings, technical reports/memoranda, specifications, quantities of materials, and cost estimates to meet scope, schedule, cost, and regulatory requirements. Reviewing shop drawings to determine conformance with the contract documents. Attending client meetings and participates under direct supervision of project manager. Communicating with clients and construction personnel to implement appropriate designs and project solutions under supervision of project manager. Field work including inspections of existing infrastructure and construction observation may comprise up to 30% of the position. This includes travel to client locations or project sites and may include overnight stays. Serving a project manager for small- to medium-sized projects or a task manager on larger, more complex projects. Able to work in multi-disciplinary teams.
