About The Position

The North Carolina Office of the State Auditor (OSA) is looking for Staff Auditor I to assist with various financial audits performed on entities across state government, including institutions of higher education. As part of our team, you will get to: • Participate in planning meetings for assigned audits where the team discusses audit risk and designs audit procedures to address the risks • Conduct on-site fieldwork, including gaining an understanding of internal controls • Analyze accounting transactions and perform test procedures • Continue learning to expand and develop technical skills

Requirements

  • Basic knowledge of auditing and accounting principles and practices
  • Demonstrated ability to oversee multiple priorities
  • Demonstrated experience communicating effectively both orally and in writing
  • A bachelor’s degree with 24 semester hours in accounting from an appropriately accredited institution OR An equivalent combination of education and experience
