About The Position

Legal Services of Greater Miami, a recognized leader in the legal aid community with over 60 years of experience, provides legal representation to low-income communities. The organization is known for its creative and aggressive advocacy on behalf of clients. Legal Services of Greater Miami, Inc. is seeking attorneys admitted to the Florida Bar who are committed to social, economic, and racial justice and dedicated to protecting the rights of low-income residents in Miami-Dade and Monroe Counties. This position specifically focuses on family law matters.

Requirements

  • Admission to the Florida Bar required.
  • Demonstrated commitment to social, economic, and racial justice.
  • Passion for serving low-income and underserved communities.
  • Strong litigation, advocacy, communication, and client-relations skills.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience or interest in family law preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Manage and maintain an independent family law caseload.
  • Interview and advise clients, draft pleadings, motions, and other legal documents.
  • Conduct depositions and discovery.
  • Negotiate with opposing counsel and parties.
  • Represent clients in court proceedings and before administrative agencies.
  • Conduct client intake and home visits as needed.
  • Build and maintain relationships with community organizations, client groups, and service providers.
  • Develop and present community education programs and outreach events.
  • Participate in special projects, clinics, and other assignments as directed.
