The Department of Public Advocacy (DPA) is seeking a zealous advocate manager to lead the Boyd Trial Services Office, serving Boyd County. This role involves providing management and direction to a team of lawyer advocates, a criminal defense investigator, an alternative sentencing worker, and administrative staff. The Staff Attorney Supervisor will maintain a caseload while ensuring the office team effectively represents clients by filing motions, participating in plea negotiations, assisting clients with treatment and other needs, and preparing cases for trial. Leaders in DPA Trial Offices also contribute to departmental educational initiatives, stay updated on legal changes, engage in community outreach, and foster relationships with political and systemic stakeholders. The DPA seeks individuals with a demonstrated commitment to helping vulnerable populations, exceptional organizational skills, self-direction, and the ability to collaborate with a defense team.
