We are seeking a Engineering Staff Associate to join our growing team, contributing to diverse projects across environmental, civil, geotechnical, Geostructural, and construction material testing disciplines. You will be a vital part of our project teams, supporting senior staff and learning the ins and outs of engineering consulting from the ground up. Our Geotechnical Group focuses on serving projects for our local municipal, industrial, residential, and commercial clients. These projects span a multitude of geotechnical support roles, from geotechnical exploration to geotechnical support during construction. Requirements

Associate's degree in Civil Engineering, Environmental Engineering, Geotechnical Engineering, Environmental Science, or a closely related field of study from an ABET-accredited institution.
0-2 years of progressively responsible professional experience in relevant fields
Currently in progress towards obtaining Engineer-in-Training (EIT) or Geologist-in-Training (GIT) certification.
Required to travel regularly to local and regional project sites (typically within South Carolina and surrounding states) , potentially including overnight stays and perform extensive fieldwork under varying environmental conditions, including adverse weather, uneven terrain, and potentially hazardous environments, while adhering strictly to health and safety protocols.
Applicants must be authorized to work in the United States without sponsorship and able to interview on site where the position is located.

Responsibilities

Perform technical analyses, calculations, and design for various engineering projects, including but not limited to site development, foundation design, retaining walls, earthwork, and pavements.
Utilize engineering software and tools for design, modeling, and data analysis (e.g., AutoCAD, Civil 3D, GeoStudio, gINT, Tablogs).
Perform site investigations, field inspections, and data collection to support project objectives.
Draft exploration reports for review by senior professionals.
Develop and apply foundational knowledge in environmental regulations, civil design principles, geotechnical investigations, and construction material testing.
Assist in data collection, analysis, and basic report preparation under direct supervision.
Begin to understand the importance of client satisfaction. Assist in clear and concise communication with clients regarding project updates and data, always under the guidance of senior staff. Learn how to maintain professional demeanor and build rapport.
Adhere strictly to company and project-specific quality control procedures. Assist in reviewing data and reports for accuracy and completeness, learning the principles of quality assurance in a consulting environment.
Contribute to the development of project work plans and schedules by assisting with task breakdown and resource allocation. Learn to track personal progress against project timelines and communicate potential delays to project managers.
Develop an understanding of project-specific risks and assist in identifying potential hazards. Learn to follow all safety protocols and regulatory compliance requirements on project sites and in the office.
Work effectively as a supportive team member, collaborating with engineers, scientists, geologists, and technicians from various disciplines. Learn to contribute to a positive and productive team environment.
Gain exposure to project contracts and assist with the initial stages of vendor coordination under senior guidance. Understand the importance of adherence to contractual obligations.
Support business development efforts by assisting with proposal preparation, data compilation for marketing materials, and understanding the firm's service offerings. Learn to recognize potential opportunities for new work.
Learn to track and report on individual project progress and time utilization. Begin to understand key performance indicators relevant to project efficiency and profitability.
