About The Position

GCC & Associates LLC is seeking a Staff Architect (SA) to provide project management, scheduling, cost and change order control, and review of submittals and requests for information for Non-Recurring Maintenance (NRM) projects at the Central Alabama Veterans Health Care System (CAVHCS). The SA will be responsible for quality assurance inspections, constructability and phasing reviews, and safety and code compliance monitoring. This role requires close coordination with facility staff to ensure construction does not disrupt ongoing hospital operations, utilities, or patient access. The SA will also oversee commissioning and startup of new systems, ensuring projects are fully tested, documented, and ready for turnover to the VA over the next five years.

Requirements

Bachelor of Architecture from an accredited school of higher education.
Minimum of six (6) years of experience in both design and construction.
Ability to quickly understand and master the requirements of local state and federal jurisdictions.
Skilled in code and other regulatory requirements including environmental and historical applications.
Knowledge of Construction Contract Documents including Front End and Technical Specifications and Drawings.
