About The Position

This role is responsible for designing, developing, testing, debugging, and maintaining high-quality Android applications. The developer will collaborate with engineering technical leadership to establish architectural direction and ensure alignment with strategic technical goals. Additionally, the role involves leading mobile Android development efforts, ensuring adherence to coding standards and best practices. The developer will also work with product management teams to define requirements, ensure technical feasibility, communicate technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders, and provide development estimates. A key aspect of this role is ensuring software development complies with healthcare industry standards and regulations, such as HIPAA and data protection guidelines, and documenting technical implementations for compliance and audits.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related technical discipline
• 4+ years of experience developing high-quality mobile applications for Android platforms
• At least 2 years of experience serving in a lead mobile Android developer role, with proven capability in technical leadership and mentorship.
• Strong proficiency in at least one primary mobile development language: Kotlin (preferred) or Java.
• Proven ability to independently drive technical projects from conception to deployment.

Nice To Haves

• Prior experience developing mobile applications within the healthcare industry
• Familiarity with cross-platform frameworks (e.g., React Native, Flutter)
• Experience with modern CI/CD pipelines and automated testing frameworks

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, test, debug, and maintain high-quality Android applications ensuring robustness, scalability, and performance.
• Collaborate closely with engineering technical leadership to establish architectural direction and ensure alignment with strategic technical goals.
• Lead mobile Android development efforts, ensuring adherence to established coding standards and best practices.
• Collaborate with product management teams to define requirements and ensure technical feasibility.
• Communicate technical concepts and challenges clearly to non-technical stakeholders.
• Provide realistic estimates for development tasks and assist in planning sprints and release schedules.
• Ensure that all software development complies with relevant healthcare industry standards and regulations (such as HIPAA and data protection guidelines).
• Document technical implementations and ensure comprehensive record-keeping to support regulatory compliance and audits.
• Proactively identify and mitigate compliance and security risks in software design and implementation.
