About The Position

EcoVadis is seeking a highly motivated Staff AI/ML Scientist focused on Conversational AI to join its growing AI Center of Excellence. The team uses AI to drive innovation across the organization and support the company’s sustainability impact. In this role, you will redefine how users interact with complex enterprise-domain data by building goal-oriented, multi-step conversational agents for use cases including sustainable procurement, supply-chain resilience, and decarbonisation. You will join a team of more than 20 scientists and engineers delivering solutions for the product portfolio and enhancing operational excellence. The role is hybrid in Warsaw, with two days per week in the office, or fully remote within Poland, and is available only to candidates eligible to work and live in Poland.

Requirements

PhD or Master’s degree in a quantitative discipline such as Statistics/Applied Mathematics, Artificial Intelligence, Computer Science, or Computational Linguistics.
At least 8 years of overall experience in machine learning and Natural Language Processing (NLP), including at least 4 years specializing in Conversational AI in production environments.
Advanced knowledge of agentic frameworks and a proven track record building autonomous or semi-autonomous agentic systems at scale.
Experience leading end-to-end AI initiatives in industry, from design through implementation and integration, while applying sound software development practices.
Excellent mentoring skills and accountability for high-quality, timely delivery of initiatives.
Experience collaborating cross-functionally to develop AI-powered products, including with engineers and product managers.

Nice To Haves

Experience building conversational interfaces over complex enterprise domains such as supply chain, procurement, or financial risk.
Peer-reviewed publications in leading NLP/AI venues such as ACL, EMNLP, NeurIPS, AAAI, or KDD.

Responsibilities

Design and test multi-turn, state-aware conversational systems using LLM reasoning loops and multi-agent orchestration frameworks.
Adapt new frameworks and advances in generative and agentic AI.
Promote AI/ML best practices and mentor junior team members.
Lead functional teams and initiatives to accelerate adoption of Conversational AI.
Use Python, MLflow, Azure services, and Databricks to build, benchmark, and maintain end-to-end AI/ML solutions.
Stay in close contact with customers to evaluate needs and recommend solutions that improve customer satisfaction and business value.
Track technology trends, including in AI, and apply relevant knowledge to EcoVadis’s challenges.
