About The Position

Menus & Venues is seeking a Staff Accountant to assist with financial and accounting matters that directly affect operational results. The role supports key projects and process improvements, and requires proactive planning to meet monthly deadlines. The position also provides ongoing accounting and finance support to brand partners, acting as a liaison between brands and corporate shared services.

Requirements

1–2 years of work experience, preferably in accounting, finance, or business analysis.
Strong knowledge of financial and accounting principles.
Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related field.
Highly proficient in Microsoft Excel.
Ability to learn accounting software packages.
Ability to comprehend and analyze financial statements, financial journals, reports, reconciliations, and related documents.
Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with peers, brand personnel, and executive-level management.

Nice To Haves

Retail or apparel industry experience.
Knowledge of Oracle and/or Hyperion.

Responsibilities

Assist with generating, preparing, and reviewing monthly financial statements and packages, as well as internal reporting documents.
Record, reconcile, and analyze monthly activity in income statements, including ad hoc analyses.
Prepare and maintain balance sheet account reconciliations.
Prepare and maintain expense trackers for operational departments.
Analyze actual results and investigate and explain variances against budget and the previous year.
Recommend and implement improvements to current methodologies and practices.
Support the monthly and quarterly financial close process.
Provide ongoing accounting and finance support to brand partners as a liaison between brand and corporate shared service teams.
Review management and operating reports to identify trends and develop benchmarking metrics.
Work on projects related to the brand finance team or division.
