About The Position

We’re looking for an experienced Staff Accountant to join the accounting team of a dynamic company in the freight forwarding industry. This is a hands-on accounting role for a detail-oriented professional who enjoys working in a fast-paced environment and contributing across a variety of accounting functions. Take on a broad range of general accounting responsibilities within an established accounting team. Work closely with accounting, sales, and operations to help maintain accurate financial records and reporting. Play an important role in reconciliations, cash activity, month-end close, reporting, and audit support. Join a fast-paced organization where accuracy, organization, and teamwork are valued.

Requirements

• A Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance.
• 3+ years of accounting experience.
• Strong knowledge of general accounting principles and practices.
• Experience with General Ledger accounting, reconciliations, month-end close, and financial reporting.
• Experience with SAP or a similar ERP system and strong Excel skills.
• Exceptional attention to detail, organizational skills, and a proactive approach.

Nice To Haves

• Freight forwarding or logistics industry experience is preferred.
• Experience with inventory or cost accounting is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Performing bank and General Ledger reconciliations and researching discrepancies.
• Assisting with month-end closing activities and maintaining accurate financial records.
• Preparing cash projections and monitoring daily cash activity.
• Reviewing and processing accounting transactions, including invoices and payments.
• Tracking and reporting daily sales transactions to ensure accuracy.
• Assisting with internal and external audits and providing supporting documentation.
• Supporting financial reporting and other general accounting activities.
• Working closely with internal departments to resolve accounting discrepancies and maintain accurate records.
• Assisting with additional accounting projects and responsibilities as needed.
