About The Position

As Staff Accountant of the Sparta team, you will be involved in a variety of finance-related tasks including but not limited to preparing and maintaining accounting records, journal entries, Balance Sheet reconciliations, and various internal and external reporting and analysis.

Requirements

Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting / Finance.
1+ years of related position experience within manufacturing environment preferred.
Thorough knowledge of basic accounting procedures.
1+ years’ experience with payroll administration and general ledger activities.
Proficiency in Microsoft Excel (Pivot tables, Lookups, etc.); ERP and Accounting Systems experience.
Highly organized and detail oriented.
Team player.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Ability to work with minimal supervision and work independently.
Problem solving and critical thinking.
Positive energy and enthusiastic learner.
Ability to prioritize and sense of urgency as needed.

Responsibilities

Maintain accurate financial records in accordance with established policies and procedures.
Assist with month-end closing activities.
Prepare journal entries and Balance Sheet reconciliations.
Process Returned Goods Authorization and General Sales Credits.
Submit required monthly internal and external reporting.
Maintain financial performance tracking reports by profit center.
Maintain and update fixed asset records.
Support internal and external audits.
Assist with Accounts Payable entries as necessary.
Assist with commissions and group rebate reporting.
Assist with annual pricing updates.
Assist with special projects and additional duties as assigned.
