About The Position

CrossCountry Freight Solutions (CCFS) is seeking a skilled Staff Accountant to join their team in Bismarck, ND. This role is crucial for maintaining accurate financial records and ensuring timely month-end closing processes. The Staff Accountant will also be responsible for maintaining financial procedures, confirming financial compliance through report preparation, and identifying/suggesting improvements for accounting reports and procedures. CCFS emphasizes professional growth and provides guidance and training for advancement.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field or 1+ years of experience in accounting, preferably in the transportation or logistics industry.
• Strong knowledge of accounting principles and financial reporting standards.
• Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., Sage, QuickBooks) and Microsoft Excel.
• Excellent analytical skills and attention to detail.
• Ability to meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Must reside locally in Bismarck, ND and be authorized to work in the U.S.

Responsibilities

• Execute month-end close procedures, including journal entries, account reconciliations, and variance analysis.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather necessary information for accurate reporting.
• Maintain the fixed asset system, including acquisitions, disposals, and depreciation calculations.
• Ensure accurate reporting of fixed assets in financial statements.
• Help prepare and analyze monthly financial statements and reports.
• Assist in internal and external audit processes by providing necessary documentation and responding to inquiries regarding financial data.
• Identify opportunities for process improvements within the finance reporting and month-end closing workflows.
• Propose and implement best practices to enhance efficiency.
• Work closely with the finance team and other departments to support financial planning and analysis activities.
• Build strong relationships to facilitate effective communication and data sharing.
