About The Position

Sarah Cannon Research Institute (SCRI), a subsidiary of McKesson, is seeking a detail-oriented and analytical Staff Accountant to join its finance team. The Staff Accountant will be responsible for maintaining financial records, reconciling accounts, and assisting with financial reporting to ensure the accuracy and integrity of financial data. This position is located at the Nashville, TN headquarters.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
  • 1-3 years of progressive accounting experience is preferred.
  • Strong understanding of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).
  • Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, SAP, Oracle, NetSuite) and Microsoft Excel (pivot tables, VLOOKUPs).
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
  • High level of accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines effectively.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with financial reporting and analysis is a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare and post journal entries, ensuring accuracy and adherence to accounting principles.
  • Perform monthly bank reconciliations and other balance sheet account reconciliations.
  • Assist with the month-end and year-end close processes, including preparing supporting schedules and analyses.
  • Process accounts payable invoices, ensuring proper coding and timely payments.
  • Perform other ad-hoc accounting projects and duties as assigned.
