About The Position

VGS is seeking an experienced Staff Accountant to support our Finance team remotely on a contract basis. This engagement is expected to last between 1 and 12 months, with a strong preference for candidates available for a longer-term assignment. In this role, you will own the day-to-day accounts payable function, support month-end close activities, and provide backup support for billing and accounts receivable operations. The ideal candidate is highly organized, proactive, and comfortable working independently in a remote environment.

Requirements

3+ years of accounts payable experience.
Some experience supporting accounts receivable and billing functions.
Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business, or equivalent practical experience.
Experience with accounting software and financial systems.
Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.
Excellent written communication skills, particularly when working with vendors.
Experience performing account reconciliations and month-end close activities.
Ability to work independently in a remote environment.

Nice To Haves

Experience with Ramp, Campfire, or similar AP platforms is a plus.
Startup or high-growth company experience is a plus.
