About The Position

Phase 1 Equity, a fast-growing Dental Service Organization that partners with orthodontic practices across the country, is hiring a detail-oriented Staff Accountant to support its accounting operations as the company grows. The role owns monthly close activities, reconciliations across multiple entities, account analysis, and support for reporting, budgeting, and forecasting. It also helps onboard newly acquired practices into the accounting system and improve processes and controls. The accountant will initially own payroll processing in Paylocity, then transition to a backup role as accounting responsibilities expand. The position follows a hybrid schedule balancing in-office collaboration with work from home. Applicants must be authorized to work in the U.S.; sponsorship is unavailable. Requirements

3–5 years of accounting experience.
A solid grasp of GAAP.
Strong Excel skills, including pivot tables and lookups.
Ability to manage multiple deadlines.

Nice To Haves

A bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance is preferred.
Experience with Sage Intacct.
Experience with Paylocity or payroll.
A background in healthcare, dental, or multi-entity organizations.

Responsibilities

Complete monthly close activities, including journal entries, accruals, reconciliations, and roll-forwards, accurately and on time.
Reconcile bank, credit card, balance sheet, and intercompany accounts across multiple entities.
Research variances, prepare account analyses, and support reporting, budgeting, and forecasting.
Bring newly acquired practices into the accounting system and help develop scalable processes.
Initially own payroll processing in Paylocity, then transition to a backup role as accounting responsibilities grow.
Identify inefficiencies, document procedures, and help strengthen controls.
