About The Position

Semo Milling, LLC has an exciting opportunity for an onsite Staff Accountant. If you have experience as an Accountant or in an equivalent accounting role, consider a career with us! This will be a full-time, salaried position with 100% paid employee health insurance effective on the start date. Salary will be dependent upon experience and education. The work schedule will be Monday-Friday, 7AM-4PM. Reporting to the Controller, this position provides accounting and coordination support.

Requirements

  • Minimum of 1 year in an accounting role
  • Ability to prioritize and multitask while experiencing interruptions
  • Thorough understanding of the accounts receivable process with a high degree of accuracy
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Computer literacy
  • Proven organizational skills
  • Ability to effectively work within a team
  • Thorough understanding of the accounts payable processes with a high degree of accuracy
  • Proficiency in the Microsoft Office Suite
  • Superior Microsoft Excel skills

Responsibilities

  • Responsible for collection and tracking of account payables (dispute resolution, statement reconciliation, purchase order matching, distribution, approval)
  • Ensure entry of vendor bills into electronic portal provided by off-site accounting services organization
  • Prepare and recommend weekly AP
  • Daily sales invoicing for all products (prime product and by-product), including sending invoices to customers and resolving disputes
  • Prepare daily Shipping Logs
  • Prepare credits, debits, and returns
  • Post daily cash deposits and apply to customer account
  • Daily filing requirements
  • Daily bank and cash position reconciliation
  • Caller Assistance
  • Excellent Internal/External Customer Service
  • Perform executive and administrative support tasks
  • Back-up phone operator
  • Follow all Personnel Safety policies/procedures, including the use of proper PPE, as well as ensure the safe use of required tools and equipment
  • Follow all Food Safety, Quality Assurance, GMP's, Sanitation and general plant policies/procedures
  • Inspect products for overall appearance according to customer and QA/Food Safety requirements and communicate with supervisor when non-conforming products are present
  • Communicate all safety or environmental issues to supervisors/managers
  • At end of shift, secure all equipment, perform general housekeeping duties
  • Complete necessary paperwork for documenting process parameters and recordkeeping requirements
  • Be a team-player and do other tasks as necessary.
