Staff Accountant

Grit Marketing•Lindon, UT

About The Position

The Staff Accountant owns payroll and day-to-day accounting for Grit Marketing, Mira Home, and Platform HQ. This role ensures reps and frontline employees are paid accurately and on time, and maintains clean books that close in under a week with transactions coded to the appropriate department, account, location, and event. The finance and accounting team manages the payroll platform and core finance functions in a rapid-growth environment. Reps and frontline employees are the team’s core customers, and the Staff Accountant works across HR, sales, and operations. The role’s work supports monthly Budget vs. Actuals (BvA) reviews and location-level P&Ls used by leadership. Responsibilities include running payroll in Rippling for all three entities; reviewing commission and bonus payouts; resolving employee pay questions; booking and reconciling payroll in Oracle NetSuite; preparing month-end close entries and reconciliations; preparing monthly intercompany salary allocations; managing multistate payroll tax filings and year-end reporting; and helping establish location-level P&L reporting. As needed, the role also processes accounts payable and expense reports, reconciles bank and credit card accounts, supports monthly BvA reviews, assists the Controller with external audits and tax filings, and documents recurring processes using AI tools such as Claude. First-year outcomes include accurate, timely payroll without pay errors reaching reps; consistent monthly closes in under a week; transaction coding by department, account, location, and event from the start of 2027; and audit-ready reconciliations for the FY2026 audit and each month thereafter.
