About The Position

Menus & Venues is seeking a Staff Accountant to assist with financial and accounting matters that directly affect operational results. The role supports key projects, process improvements, and efficiencies, and requires proactively planning and working to meet monthly deadlines. The accountant also provides ongoing accounting and finance support to brand partners, serving as a liaison between brand and corporate shared service teams.

Requirements

• 1–2 years of work experience, preferably in accounting, finance, or business analysis.
• Strong knowledge of financial and accounting principles.
• Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related field.
• High proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
• Ability to learn accounting software packages.
• Ability to comprehend and analyze financial statements, financial journals, reports, reconciliations, and related documents.
• Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with peers, brand personnel, and executive-level management.

Nice To Haves

• Retail or apparel industry experience.
• Knowledge of Oracle and/or Hyperion.

Responsibilities

• Assist with generating, preparing, and reviewing monthly financial statements and packages, along with internal reporting documents.
• Record, reconcile, and analyze monthly income-statement activity, including ad hoc analyses.
• Prepare and maintain balance-sheet account reconciliations.
• Prepare and maintain expense trackers for operational departments.
• Analyze actual results, investigate variances, and explain results versus budget and the previous year.
• Recommend and implement improvements to current methodologies and practices.
• Support the monthly and quarterly financial close process.
• Provide ongoing accounting and finance support to brand partners as a liaison between brand and corporate shared service teams.
• Review management and operating reports to identify trends and develop benchmarking metrics.
• Work on projects related to the brand finance team or division.
