About The Position
The Staff Accountant is responsible for providing a broad variety of accounting and clerical support to the Accounting and Member Service Department personnel.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance (or equivalent experience preferred)
- Proficiency in Excel
- Strong analytical and reconciliation skills
- Attention to detail with financial documents
- Strong written and verbal communication
Responsibilities
- Assisting with the maintenance of accounting journals
- Processing daily accounting and CD interest entries
- Reconciling daily teller activities
- Conducting loan audits
- Processing accounts payable transactions and checks
- Balancing bank statements
- Assisting with other various financial tasks and reports
- Working daily returns
- Conducting monthly cash and vault audits under direction of the VP of Accounting
