About The Position

Saildrone is seeking a Staff Accountant to join its Finance organization and support core accounting operations and monthly close activities. This is a hands-on role focused on journal entries, reconciliations, and maintaining accurate financial records across a fast-scaling hardware and defense technology environment. The Staff Accountant will work closely with senior accounting leadership and cross-functional operational teams to help ensure the integrity of financial reporting, support audits, and strengthen foundational accounting processes as the company continues to scale.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance required.
• 2–5 years of accounting experience.
• Solid understanding of US GAAP.
• Experience preparing journal entries and reconciliations.
• Exposure to ERP systems (NetSuite preferred).
• Strong attention to detail and analytical mindset.
• Ability to operate in a fast-paced, collaborative environment.

Nice To Haves

• CPA or actively pursuing CPA certification and a public accounting background would be nice.
• Experience in manufacturing, hardware, or inventory-based environments.

Responsibilities

• Support the monthly close process through journal entries and account reconciliations.
• Own select balance sheet accounts and ensure accurate supporting schedules.
• Assist with accruals, prepaids, and fixed asset accounting.
• Partner with Cost Accounting to reconcile inventory and WIP activity into the GL.
• Support audit requests and maintain organized accounting documentation.
• Help improve accounting processes and internal controls.
• Collaborate cross-functionally with Operations, Supply Chain, and Finance teams as needed.
