About The Position

Robinson, Farmer, Cox (RFC) is looking to hire a Staff Accountant based out of Charlottesville, VA to join our team that comes with a generous salary ranging from $60,000-$65,000 dependent on experience! RFC was founded in 1953, as a Firm of Certified Public Accountants. RFC provides tax preparation and consultation, financial statement audits and consulting services throughout Virginia across six offices. RFC serves governments, individuals, businesses, and non-profit entities recognizing that each client is unique and important. Requirements

Must have a degree in accounting
Understanding of detailed concepts of commercial and governmental accounting
Ability to analyze data quickly from a variety of sources
Ability to organize and schedule tasks to completion
Ability to verbally communicate ideas in both small and large group settings
Ability to gain and maintain confidence of clients
Understanding of operations of local governments
Familiarity with a wide variety of PC based software including WP, spreadsheet, and database

Responsibilities

Participates in the preparation of balance sheets, profit and loss statements, and other financial reports
Analyzing trends, costs, revenues, financial commitments, and obligations incurred to predict future revenues and expenses
Performs various tests of assets, liabilities, revenues, expenditures and others accounts
Prepares Spreadsheets relevant to audit assignment
Develops “management letter” comments
Prepares audit adjusting entries
Communicates with clients concerning audit matters after consultation with supervisor
Prepares federal and state tax returns for review
Performs other duties as may be assigned by a supervisor
