Position Summary: The Staff Accountant plays a key role in supporting accurate and timely financial reporting for the organization. Reporting directly to the Senior Accountant, this position is responsible for performing journal entries, reconciliations, supporting month-end close processes, and assisting in financial analysis and reporting activities. The ideal candidate has a solid understanding of accounting principles, is highly organized, and demonstrates strong analytical and problem-solving skills. This position offers strong visibility to the Finance Controller and CFO, with opportunities for career advancement.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance.
  • Minimum of 2–4 years of progressive accounting experience.
  • Solid understanding of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).
  • Experience with accounting software; Microsoft D365 experience is required.
  • Intermediate to advanced Excel skills (pivot tables, v-lookups, etc.).
  • Strong attention to detail, accuracy, and organization.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Team player with the ability to work independently when needed.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare and post journal entries with accuracy and proper documentation.
  • Perform monthly account reconciliations and investigate discrepancies.
  • Assist in month-end and year-end closing activities, including supporting schedules and variance analysis.
  • Support the preparation of financial statements and management reports.
  • Analyze financial data and identify trends, variances, and areas for improvement.
  • Maintain and organize accounting records in accordance with company policy and GAAP.
  • Assist internal and external auditors by providing requested documentation.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure financial data integrity.
  • Identify opportunities for process improvement and support implementation.
  • Assist with ad hoc reporting and special projects as assigned.
  • Support continuous improvement efforts within the finance department.
