About The Position

Child Serve has a full-time opening for a Staff Accountant. The role analyzes financial activity, performs account reconciliations, and assists with financial reporting. The Staff Accountant supports Child Serve’s mission of partnering with families to help children with special healthcare needs live a great life.

Requirements

Three years of medical billing experience.
Computer skills, including Microsoft Office and proficiency with Excel, and the ability to proficiently learn new software programs.
Knowledge of Medicaid rules and HIPAA regulations.
Ability to understand and communicate effectively and professionally in written and spoken English.

Nice To Haves

Associate of Arts or Associate of Science degree in Accounting or Business Administration is preferred.
Experience with nonprofit, human services, or healthcare/insurance organizations is preferred.

Responsibilities

Reconcile general accounts monthly, quarterly, and annually as needed.
Prepare and analyze reports to ensure accuracy and support business plans, budgets, and forecasts on a monthly, quarterly, and annual basis.
Perform assigned monthly tasks and prepare journal entries to support accurate monthly financial statements.
Review revenue and expense fluctuations, investigate their causes, and communicate variances and recommendations for improvement.
Assist with internal annual processes, including budgeting, annual audit preparation, and external reports.
Support special projects, including software implementations, process improvements, and requests from other areas of the company.
